President Donald Trump has issued a final warning to Tehran, claiming that the clerical regime is running out of time to accept a U.S.-led peace deal. Trump stated that Iranian negotiators are privately “begging” for an end to the war because their military has been “obliterated” with “zero chance of a comeback.” He dismissed their public stance of “looking at” the 15-point U.S. proposal as a deceptive stall tactic that will eventually lead to their destruction.

The current conflict, which began in late February 2026, has seen the most intense aerial bombardments in the history of the Persian Gulf. The U.S. 15-point plan demands that Iran permanently shutter its nuclear facilities and accept strict limits on its missile capabilities in exchange for sanctions relief. Furthermore, the plan requires the immediate and unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway that is vital to the global economy.

Iran has countered this with its own proposal, which includes a demand for reparations and the recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran’s plan also calls for an end to all targeting of its officials and guarantees that the U.S. and Israel will not launch future attacks. These conditions have been described as excessive by the Trump administration, leading to a breakdown in diplomatic progress through intermediaries.

The humanitarian fallout of the 2026 war has been staggering, with over 1,500 people killed in Iran and 1,100 in Lebanon. Millions of civilians have been uprooted, and the region is on the verge of a total security collapse. The United States has also paid a high price, with 13 military personnel killed in the line of duty as a result of retaliatory strikes by Iranian-aligned forces across the Gulf.

President Trump’s threat that “there is NO TURNING BACK” serves as a final notice to the Iranian leadership to accept the 15-point off-ramp. He has extended the deadline for reopening the Strait of Hormuz to April 6, but warned that military action against Iran’s energy grid is the next step if diplomacy fails. The world now watches to see if the negotiators Trump described will finally yield to the terms of the 15-point proposal.
