As she marked 1,413 days of leadership, Meloni’s administration has become the longest-serving in the history of the Italian Republic. At a Brothers of Italy (FdI) party rally in Bari, she emphasized that the true achievement lies not only in the duration of her tenure but also in the sustained public endorsement and the advancement of her political agenda.
Meloni highlighted political stability as a pivotal reform under her leadership, suggesting that it has bolstered Italy’s position in international negotiations and in safeguarding national interests. Despite acknowledging the trials of governance, with moments she described as feeling like “swimming in glue,” Meloni remains unwavering in her commitment, stating she never considered stepping down.
During her time in office, Meloni has navigated various challenges including Middle Eastern conflicts, tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, soaring fuel prices, natural disasters, terrorism, and issues of youth crime. These hurdles, she contends, have been met with resilience and determination to maintain her government’s strategic goals.
Furthermore, Meloni has been vocal about her government’s fiscal management. She criticized former administrations for their impact on Italy’s public finances, specifically referencing the financial strain caused by initiatives like the Superbonus.
